Q Picture: Turns Light into Perfect Colour

The newly-announced QLED TV takes quantum dot technology to the next level with advancements in light efficiency, stability and a wider colour spectrum. With new metal alloy quantum dots, the QLED TV addresses all major aspects of picture quality, including Colour Volume, brightness, bold contrast and viewing angle. QLED TV can express accurate colour and achieves a 100% Colour Volume – the highest in the market today, earning accreditation from Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), one of Europe’s largest technical-scientific associations.

QLED TV’s advanced HDR 2000 functionality allows users to see every hidden detail as it was meant to be seen, with no loss or distortion of colour. In addition, QLED TV’s rich, deep black levels and bold contrast provide a consistent viewing experience regardless of a room’s lighting.

NI Demonstrates World’s First Real-Time Over-the-Air Prototype for Verizon 5G at 28 GHz

Prototype achieves 5 Gbit/s peak data rates, scalable to over 20 Gbit/s 

Bangalore, India – March 22, 2017 – NI (Nasdaq: NATI), the provider of platform-based systems that enable engineers and scientists to solve the world’s greatest engineering challenges, today gave the world’s first public demonstration at 28 GHz of a real-time, over-the-air prototype aligned with the Verizon 5G specification at the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) in San Francisco. The system uses OFDM with eight component carriers in a 2×2 downlink MU-MIMO configuration with hybrid beamforming and a self-contained subframe, yielding a 5 Gbit/s peak throughput, and is scalable to over 20 Gbit/s with eight MIMO streams.

Verizon announced the availability of its 5G Technology Forum specification in 2015. Although the industry is developing products and technologies to conform to the standard, no public over-the-air demonstrations have occurred at 28 GHz until now.

Developers built the prototype using NI’s mmWave Transceiver System with a new version of the RF mmWave heads operating at 28 GHz and phased array antennas developed by Anokiwave and Ball Aerospace. The 28 GHz frequency band is significant because Verizon and its partners designated it for deployment in the United States. The prototype system was completely written with LabVIEW system design software and features fully modifiable real-time code for both the base station and the user equipment (UE or CPE).

“This prototype demonstrates the power of the NI platform,” said James Kimery, director of RF research and SDR marketing at NI. “Researchers can take advantage of the combination of hardware and software to rapidly prototype new wireless standards and iterate quickly to reduce time to results. They can now prototype and test the Verizon 5G specification and move immediately to 5G New Radio once the standard stabilizes.”

This will enhance the performance of India’s Frontline Health Workersas they are the first point of contact with the healthcare system in the developing areas, allowing them to save many lives. The project will be a great step towards improved healthcare for the newborn and the mothers.

While cardiovascular diseases have quadrupled in the last 40 years, 50% of the affected patients arrive too late for appropriate treatment. If the patient receives treatment within one hour of the attack- called ‘the golden hour’, possibilities of saving his/her life increase manifold. LeEco chairman YT Jia believes India’s user value will surpass China

New Delhi / Bangalore, November 10, 2016: Leading global internet conglomerate LeEco reaffirmed the importance the Indian market has to the company amid its recent strategic realignments.“India represents the future and its user value may surpass China in a few years,” said YT Jia, co-founder and chairman of LeEco at the company’s investor meeting in Beijing on November 10.

Bangalore, November 9, 2016: India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), the premier trade body representing the Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry, with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Bangalore and TSSC announced a MoU for opening a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bangalore represented by Lt Gen (Dr) SP Kochhar, AVSM,SM,VSM (Retd) CEO, TSSC, Naganand Doraswamy, President, TiE Bangalore and K Krishna Moorthy, Corporate Vice President & Managing Director, India Design Center Rambus Chip Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. The second edition of the flagship event, IoTNext 2016, saw a huge turnout from industry thought leaders, startups and stakeholders in the IoT sector.  With this collaboration between TSSC, IESA and TiE, the CoE will help in providing a platform to skill, develop and train blue collared workers in the field of IoT. It will empower the group to focus on gaining competency using some of the best practices and help in creating job opportunities for them as the industry shifts towards automation.
