Bengaluru, August 27, 2015: Intel India today unveiled the Intel India Maker Lab^ and the Intel India Maker Showcase in its Bengaluru campus, furthering its commitment to help realize Government of India’s Digital India and Make in India vision by accelerating innovation in India. Intel India Maker Lab will focus on hardware design by boosting product innovation and enhance maker capability for startups in India. Intel India Maker Showcase will let visitors and participants see, feel and experience the products and solutions from the Intel India Maker Lab along with other innovations from Intel.

The Intel India Maker Lab will be open to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs who are pursuing new hardware products and solutions in Internet of Things, Mobile Devices as well as other compute domains. They will be provided with development kits, reference boards, hardware and software tools to develop and test their ideas and bring their products and solutions to life, as well as mentoring and business support. The Intel India Maker Lab plans to support ten startup companies initially. The selection process for startups would be completed in October 2015 and the Maker Lab engagements are planned to start subsequently. Intel India Maker Lab in Bangalore

The Intel India Maker Lab and Intel India Maker Showcase initiative supports the Intel and Department of Science and Technology (DST)’s `Innovate For Digital India’ Challenge that drew over 1900 entries from across India.  Recently, 20 teams were shortlisted in the Innovate for Digital India Challenge. The shortlisted teams will be eligible to use the Intel India Maker Lab without having to go through a further selection process.

Intel India Maker Lab plans to collaborate with incubators and accelerators of academic institutions, industry associations, as well as other corporate entities to offer the benefits of Intel India Maker Lab to hardware startups they are supporting.

New EVO:RAIL Solution and VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes Support Help Power  Software-Defined Infrastructure for VMware Environments

For simple, cost-effective data protection, Hitachi UCP 1000 for VMware EVO:RAIL offers optional integration with Hitachi Data Ingestor software that allows for “bottomless backup” on-premise with Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) or in the cloud with Hitachi Cloud Service for Content Archiving. Hitachi UCP 1000 for VMware EVO:RAIL provides customers with the flexibility and agility they need in remote office and other environments at a lower cost than other solutions.

User conference provides a platform for design engineers to exchange ideas and best practices

The conference brought together users and industry experts from semiconductor and electronics product and design services companies, and featured keynotes from Texas Instruments and Samsung. The two-day conference, held on August 18 and 19, provided an opportunity for delegates to network with peers, share best practices, understand the latest solutions and discover new techniques to address their most difficult design challenges.

Intel India to set up Intel India Maker Lab in Bengaluru

A unique platform for innovators and entrepreneurs to accelerate product innovation to enable the government’s `Make in India’ and `Design in India’ vision

Bengaluru, August 05, 2015: Intel India today announced its plan to set up Intel India Maker Lab^, a unique innovation Lab in its Bengaluru campus. To be operational soon, the Lab aims to accelerate hardware design innovation by boosting product innovation and enhance maker capability for innovators and startups in India. The Intel India Maker Lab will provide the infrastructure, development kits, reference boards, hardware and software tools, in addition to mentoring and business connection for local Indian entrepreneurs and innovators to develop and test their ideas leading to products and solutions using this unique Lab.

Innovators and startups can bring in their ideas, develop proof of concepts, and finally shape those into products/solutions using the resources available at the Lab. Following successful prototype, Intel India will help connect them to local technology ecosystem like Electronic Manufacturing Service providers, Original Design Manufacturers, Independent Software Vendors and System Integrators, in alignment with the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Intel India would work closely with India’s startup ecosystem including Central/State Government incubation initiatives, academic institution-led incubators, corporate as well as commercial accelerators to complement their efforts for better and faster cycle of product realization.

In conjunction with the Intel India Maker Lab initiative, Intel India will also set up the ‘Intel India Maker Showcase’, which will allow delegates and visitors from the eco-system to see, feel and experience the innovative products and solutions from the Lab along with innovations from Intel.
